FAQs

1. What denomination are you part of?

Peoples Baptist Church is not part of a denomination or association. It is in fellowship with other similar Baptist churches in New Jersey and elsewhere.

2. What version of the Bible do you use?

We use the King James Version.

3. What are the people like at Peoples Baptist Church?

We are culturally and ethnically diverse. The age range is equally diverse with people who range in age from those who are waiting to be born to those who senior citizens.

4. How would you describe your theology?

Out theology is conservative. Although we might appreciate those who hold slightly different views from us, we adhere along with them to the foundational and essential doctrines that we feel are necessary to be able to define what a true Christian church is. We believe that the Bible is without error in every way and is the sole authority for our salvation and life. We believe that hell and heaven are real. We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin and is God. We believe that salvation is by grace alone through our faith in the substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ on the cross. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ who is ascended on high and sits at the right hand of the Father. We believe that God is one Who consists of a trinity — God the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. For those familiar with other theological classifications, we would not be called Liberal, Modernist, Calvinist, Charismatic, Neo-Evangelical, or Armenian.

5. Do you believe that Baptist churches are the only true churches?

No. There are other names that a church might use and still be a true church if it is true to the foundational doctrines of Christianity found in God’s Word. There are also many Baptist churches that are not true at all.

6. Do you use Christian Contemporary Music?

We do not use music with a rock beat in it.

7. Do you speak in tongues?

No. Biblical tongues have not been used since the completion of the Bible.

8. Are you a traditional church?

We like to travel down the “old paths” that our spiritual forefathers used. Although we are flexible in our methodology, we are firm in our theology.

Hi! Hey it’s me Bruce you probably knew me by my middle name Danny. When I was 14 years old I went to New Jersey to visit my aunt and we attended your church which is where I gained an interest in God (Holy spirit) You probably can remember me by this I would stay after the sermon and ask you questions like “do animals get to go to heaven?” or “where did God come from?” Well I still strongly believe in God still and I’m 29 years old!! doing well. I’m glad to see your congregation has grown in numbers. Tell your daughters I said hi! Take care. oh and wife!
